My home is in Regina, the capitol city of Saskatchewan, located in the middle of Canada’s Prairie region. I grew up in Toronto, and after having lived in a few other places around Canada, settled in Saskatchewan in 1973. Before becoming a full-time freelancer in 1992 I spent more than 10 years as a news director in Saskatchewan radio and TV newsrooms. I also worked as a ministerial assistant responsible for communications in the Saskatchewan legislature and as a program planning manager with SaskTel Public Affairs.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Honours English Language and Literature, and I have completed the courses needed for a Master’s degree in English. (Maybe somday, I’ll get that finished).
As you might have gathered from the camera dangling from my neck, when I’m not busy using words to tell a story, I like to travel into rural Saskatchewan to capture the magical Prairie light on the landscape, and learn more from local people about where they live.
